This week’s lesson

Jean 1:1. For a parent, a spouse, or three people at a table. Same container every week, so a table does not need a new plan.

  1. Read the French once, slowly. Everyone else only listens.
  2. Read it again at a natural pace. Do not translate between the two readings.
  3. Each person names one word they can say.
  4. Close together: Au commencement était la Parole.

Our mission

Some language houses became networks because they invented one public format and then refused to abandon it. The street interview is not ours. Ours is Scripture spoken slowly in living French.

French & Faith teaches French through the Bible so learners grow in language and in faith at the same time.

About the house

03

One format

The format is named: Un verset, une voix — one verse, one voice. Five beats, then stop.

  1. 01Show the verseThe French is on the screen, or on the page, before anyone explains it.
  2. 02Hear it twiceOnce slowly, then at a natural pace. The second time is not a correction. It is the music.
  3. 03Lift three wordsOr one structure. Then one sentence a learner can reuse this week, outside the verse.
  4. 04One faith notePlain language. Half a minute, not a sermon. The text stays larger than the comment.
  5. 05A line to repeatThe verse, a fragment of a prayer, or a blessing. The episode ends in the mouth, not in a summary.

Who it is for

  • Believers learning French

For worship, study, mission, marriage, or a life in a French-speaking country.

  • French-speaking believers

Who want the language of Scripture slower, clearer, and explained without being talked down to.

  • Homes and small groups

A church table or a homeschool hour that needs a gentle curriculum, not a textbook dropped on the desk.

If you want a phrasebook for a weekend in Paris, this is the wrong door.

Questions

The house is small on purpose. One next step: the free week, or a first hour. Not both as equal doors.

  • I am a complete beginner. Is this for me?

Yes, if you are willing to go slowly.

  • Which French Bible do you quote?

Louis Segond 1910, which is in the public domain, so the verse can sit on the screen with a clear credit.

  • Where do I book a lesson?

On Preply, on this house’s profile.

  • Is The French & Faith Year free?

Yes. The Year, the Welcome Wallet, and the library stay free.
